• O zarządzaniu migracją i odpowiedzi państw Unii Europejskiej na kryzys migracyjny w ostatnich latach dyskutowali eksperci na międzynarodowej konferencji w Warszawie

26 marca 2019 r. przedstawiciel polskiego Krajowego Mechanizmu Prewencji Tortur wziął udział w trzeciej międzynarodowej konferencji  w ramach projektu EUMIGRO – Jean Monnet Module on the European Union and the Contemporary International Migration – an Interdisciplinary Approach, zorganizowanej przez Szkołę Główną Handlową w Warszawie, we współpracy z Fundacją Konrada Adenaura oraz Research Committee 46 – Migration and Citizenship International Political Science Association (IPSA). Konferencja poświęcona była problematyce migracji i integracji w Unii Europejskiej.

Po części inauguracyjnej, podczas której głos zabrali przedstawiciele władz SGH oraz Fundacji Konrada Adenauera, odbyły się dwa wykłady gości specjalnych – prof. Stefanii Panebianco i prof. Rinusa Penninxa.

Wystąpienie prof. Panebianco w głównej mierze poświęcone było odpowiedzi państw należących do Unii Europejskiej na kryzys migracyjny w ostatnich latach i wpływie polityków na nastroje społeczeństw względem imigrantów.

Prof. Rinus Penninx z Uniwersytetu Amsterdamskiego skupił się natomiast na problematyce zarządzania migracją w UE, z perspektywy różnych modeli integracji w krajach członkowskich.

Poza częścią wykładową odbyło się również pięć paneli eksperckich z udziałem przedstawicieli organizacji międzynarodowych i pozarządowych, jak również  krajowych i zagranicznych ośrodków akademickich, instytucji publicznych. 

Ważny głos dotyczący aktualnej sytuacji osób ubiegających się o azyl, jak również ich detencji zabrała Maria Pamuła, przedstawicielka Biura Wysokiego Komisarza ONZ ds. Uchodźców (UNHCR) w Polsce. Sebastian Rysz z przedstawicielstwa Komisji Europejskiej w Polsce odpowiadał na pytania z sali dotyczące m.in. polityki unijnej w zakresie nawiązywania współpracy z państwami trzecimi, w których dochodzi do łamania praw człowieka.
