European Seminar "OPCAT AND OMBUDSMAN" took place in the Office of the Human Rights Defender, organized by the HRD and International Ombudsman Institute. Among the participants there were Ombudsmen and representatives of institutions dealing with human rights from 15 countries, Minister of Justice Mr. Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of Justice and Human Rights Mr. Ryszard Kalisz. The meeting was dedicated to issues related to functioning of National Preventive Mechanism and the implementation of principles of the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (OPCAT) .
