The Commissioner participated in the debate "Własnym głosem o sobie – imigranci romscy w Polsce [Speaking about themselves – Roma immigrants in Poland]" organized by Tenants Association of Wielkopolska and the Western Social and Economic Research Centre Foundation. The debate focused on situation of the group of Romanian Roma people living in encampments among others, in the area of Wrocław, Poznań and Gdansk. As one of the discussion panel participants, dr Bodnar, pointed out to the fact that problems of Romany community in Poland have not been resolved for over 20 years. In the opinion of the CHR it is necessary to, among others, simplify the registration procedures in Poland of the European Union citizens.
